Remember the thing they say about breakfast? That it’s the most important meal of the day? It turns out that eating a good breakfast every day can contribute to a healthier lifestyle. How? If you are trying to lose weight or manage your weight, it’s best that you go a little heavy on your breakfast instead of your lunch or dinner. You have pretty much all day to burn what you ate for breakfast, plus it’s true that your breakfast is what fuels your body throughout the day. So, if you’re not eating a good one, then what happens to your body?
Being starved in the morning makes you feel lethargic after a few hours of waking up, mainly because you tried to function without fuel. Breakfast restores your glucose levels after fasting while you’re sleeping. So, if you skipped breakfast, you are more likely to reach for snacks that are high in sugar and fats mid-morning because your body is trying to compensate for what it lacks. Nobody wants this, so just eat your breakfast, right?
Another thing is that breakfast is what jump-starts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout the day. If you skipped breakfast and you started working, what are you burning? There are studies that also linked eating a good breakfast daily contributes to a better health. It includes better memory and concentration too. Not only that, but it also levels bad cholesterol and reduces the chances of getting diabetes, heart disease and being overweight.
Remember what we talked about how starving yourself isn’t healthy? Nor does it actually contribute to a healthy weight loss? This is another reason why you shouldn’t skip breakfast. I’m pretty sure you didn’t eat while you were sleeping, so the moment you wake up, that’s the only time that your body can replenish what it lost during your sleep. Your body is starving in the morning and you have to feed it the energy it needs. Not doing so will make you feel hungrier later during the day and will cause you to overeat.
Breakfast is called breakfast because it’s the break in fasting. It really is the most important meal of the day. However, it’s not always enough to just eat anything to pass as breakfast. A well-balanced meal is suggested in order for your body to function at its best during the day. Even if you’re not physically working or moving about, remember that not only does breakfast fuel your body, but it also fuels your brain and other organs.
Breakfast is my favorite part of the day! Nothing beats that meal, for me.
I rarely have breakfast. Most of the time I just drink my coffee and snack on random stuff before lunch. I thought I was doing my body a favor.
What about intermittent fasting? It’s saying that I have to starve myself in the morning. I’m so confused!
I’m not a morning person, so it’s really not nice for me to wake up early just to prepare breakfast. So what I usually do is prepare something at night that I can just microwave in the morning.?
That’s actually a good idea, as long as you’re preparing healthy meals.
I can never skip breakfast. I feel dizzy whenever I would skip it and I have to go to work. It’s not like I can just randomly chew on something while I’m on my desk, so I really make sure that I eat something before I go to work.
I have overnight oats in the morning and I just add a couple of fruits to the mix. I have the ingredients pre-sliced so I just have to toss them all together in the morning.
For me, the easiest breakfast is a smoothie. I sometimes even add veggies to the mix and I really like it.
I really don’t have an appetite in the morning. I usually get hungry 2 or more hours after I wake up so I don’t really eat breakfast. I usually just drink warm lemon water in the morning and I just eat a small portion of breakfast and move my lunch an hour or two late.
Not exactly a breakfast eating type of person, and my weight seems normal. I’ve been like this for ages and never really had a problem with it! ?
Breakfast food is wonderful. I could eat breakfast all day but then that’s fattening.
When I’m rushing to get to work, I just pack my home made protein bars. Over the weekend, I take the time to make my breakfasts before hand. All of it includes nuts sauteed in spices.
Preparing your meals beforehand really is important and the easiest way there is. Nobody wants to get up so early just to cook!
