Lack of sleep can lead to weight gain
A study showed that teensĀ and adults gained weight for every hour of sleep that they lost. Let’s say that you slept three hours less than your usual eight hours of sleep. Well, you just wanted to finish that Game of Thrones marathon, didn’t you?
If you do this almost every night for the course of five years, you would gainĀ 2.1 points on the BMI index for every hour of sleep you lost. This was done on more than 3,000 participants. You can read more about the study here.
