If you ask me, nothing beats a power smoothie. All you need is a blender, the right, yummy ingredients, and you have something yummy to sip on that will make you feel just awesome.
I especially love brain-boosting smoothies, as I need to feel empowered and quick whenever I have a very busy day. My routine wouldn’t be the same without smoothies!
This is why I decided to make a little list of my favourite power drinks. Perfect for everyone!
Brain-boosting smoothie: Banana and coconut
My absolute favorite. This blend of sweet delight will give you more mental power than all the coffee you could drink. Furthermore, it’s super easy to make.
You will need:
1 cup milk (almond, rice, or normal)
1 frozen banana, slightly thawed
1 scoop protein powder
2 tablespoons of unsweetened coconut
Blend well, serve and enjoy!
Antioxidant smoothie: Avocado, mango and spinach
Everybody knows that avocado is one of those few food that are both incredibly healthy and ridiculously delicious. Avocados have great antioxidant powers, and spinach is awesome for your iron supply. Perfect smoothie for lunch.
You will need:
1/2 fresh mango
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup chilled low-fat vanilla soymilk
1/4 avocado
5 tablespoons of agave nectar
Skin clearer smoothie: Coconut, cucumber and parsley
This recipe is the key to clear, glowing skin. Try to believe and go for gold!
You will need:
1 cup coconut kefir
½ cup packed flat-leaf parsley (leaves and stems)
1 cucumber
1 apple
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 lime
2 tablespoon of mint leaves
Vitamin C rich smoothie: Morning Sunshine
Your mum was right. Vitamic C is important. Now you have the chance to get all the vitamin C you need in one single drink.
You will need:
2-3 freshly-juiced tangerines
1 ruby red grapefruit (juiced)
A handful of frozen strawberries
Iron Maiden smoothie: Beets, carrots and apple
Weak due to your period, or simply suffering from a lack of iron? This drink is packed with iron and it will give you a hand. Also in this case, perfect for lunch, unless you feel like enduring spinach for breakfast.
You will need:
2 large beets, peeled and sliced
2 carrots, trimmed
1 small apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
a handful of spinach
1/4 cup of water
Drink-Your-Greens smoothie: Kale, pineapple and almond
Ideal for a healthy breakfast, this smoothie give you all the nutrients you need to start your day in style.
You will need:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup packed chopped kale
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup diced pineapple
1 banana
These are my absolute favorites, and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do! Remember, what makes smoothies awesome is that there are so many for every season. It’s always smoothie time;) Do you have any other smoothie recipe? Let me know in the comments!
